MinecraftSaveMgr – Copy Save Files, Offline Play Files to Flash Drive

IMPORTANT NOTE: This might not work correctly on old operating systems… it’s been tested on Vista and 7. This is because of differences in the way the command shell works. If you are using an old OS, and you notice error messages or odd output when running the Save-to-Flash batch file, it won’t work.

This is a little set of 3 Windows batch files I quickly whipped up to manage Minecraft save files and assist with backing up offline play files. Sometimes you find yourself without administrator access on some other computer or network and you’re unable to play without going online – but this isn’t always possible if you are playing without WiFi, or at work… or school… as it may be. What this does is back up your %appdata%\.minecraft folder to a flash drive or external hard disk and enable you to copy it back to other computers as well as delete your save data from other computers. It only copies files that have changed, so you don’t have to copy thousands of files each time. Very handy, and saves time.

Does not work on Mac or Linux, for obvious reasons.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it will warn you about any missing or incorrect directories before attempting to copy or delete.

Download it here, and extract to your flash drive’s Minecraft folder where Minecraft.exe resides.
